Privacy and cookie policy
Procently measures how the site is used, so we can improve it. Most of that only starts once you agree. Here is, in short, what we record and what your rights are.
Procently is built and run by Michiel Geyskens, who is also responsible for your data. Questions? Mail .

Your choice
On your first visit we ask whether we may measure. We keep your choice for 180 days in the agree cookie. Changed your mind? Delete that cookie for procently.be in your browser and we will ask again. The site works just as well either way.
Always, even without consent
Vercel, where the site runs, counts visits and load speed without cookies. Your recent searches stay in your own browser. What you search for is handled by our own search server in Belgium; we only count how often a search term is searched for, without an IP address.
When you click through to a shop, we note that click in our click record: which product and which shop, from which page, how your visit started, your kind of browser and device, and your country. We do not keep your IP address or your name. The shop's affiliate network gets a click number, so it can report a purchase back to us. We keep the click record for 25 months in Google Cloud, in the EU. Nothing is stored on your device for it: the data travels in the link, so it also appears briefly in the server logs and your browser history.
When the network reports a purchase, we link it to your click: what was bought, the amount and our commission. That report also goes to PostHog, our usage statistics, on servers in the EU, with the click number. The network never gives us your name or your address.
Google's measurement also loads, but without cookies. Google then only receives anonymous signals, such as a page view or a click, and the ad code if you came through an ad.
For this we rely on our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f) GDPR): settling our commissions, keeping out robots and fraud, improving search and knowing which pages and ads work.
Procently in ChatGPT and other AI assistants
When you ask an AI assistant such as ChatGPT for prices through Procently, our server only receives that assistant's search: the product, the country and the language. For each request we note what was asked, the search words, how many products we found and which assistant it was, to see which products we still lack. We do not receive your IP address, your name or your conversation. We keep that list for 13 months in Google Cloud, in the EU. When you click through to a shop from the assistant, that click joins the click record above, with the assistant as its source. Here too we rely on our legitimate interest: improving search.
After your consent
If you accept, these switch on too:
- PostHog: how the site is used, with an anonymous code in your browser. If a network later reports a purchase, it is linked to that code too.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads: whether our ads work, with cookies of up to 2 years.
Your browser then also remembers, for as long as the tab is open, which page your visit started from. The legal basis is your consent. We sell no data.
Third parties
These parties process data on our behalf:
- PostHog (usage statistics, servers in the EU)
- Google (ad measurement, servers also in the US (EU-US Data Privacy Framework))
- Google Cloud (search and storage of the click record, servers in the EU)
- Vercel (hosting and anonymous visitor statistics)
Your rights
You may always ask which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to the click record and the signals to Google. Mail for that. Your name appears nowhere in the click record, so to find your clicks we will ask for a few details, such as the date, the product and the shop. Not happy? You can file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
