Description
The Audeze LCD-2 Classic revisits the legendary sound signature that put planar magnetic headphones on the map. Engineered with ultra-thin 106 mm planar diaphragms and a proprietary non-Fazor magnetic structure, it produces deep bass, lush midranges, and an open, natural soundstage. Lightweight glass-infused nylon rings, thick cushioned ear pads, and a ventilated suspension headband provide reliable long-session comfort. Handcrafted in Southern California, it connects via a detachable 4-pin mini-XLR to 6.3 mm cable.
Pros & cons
- Pro: Planar magnetic drivers deliver remarkably warm, full-bodied bass and an expansive soundstage.
- Pro: Comfortable suspension headband and plush ear pads distribute weight evenly for extended sessions.
- Con: Open-back design leaks sound and provides virtually no isolation from external noise.
- Con: At 544 grams, it remains heavier than conventional dynamic headphones.
