Philips Series 2300 LatteGo Black Coffee Machine

Description

The Philips Series 2300 LatteGo grinds fresh beans with a 12-setting ceramic grinder and makes espresso, coffee and cappuccino, plus hot water for tea. The two-part LatteGo milk system froths milk without tubes and rinses clean under the tap. You pick and adjust your drink on a touchscreen. Philips says SilentBrew makes it 40% quieter than its earlier milk-jug models, and the AquaClean filter puts off descaling for up to 5,000 cups if you replace it when the machine asks. The water tank holds 1.8 litres, the bean container 275 grams. An entry model for people who mostly drink espresso, coffee and cappuccino.

Pros & cons

• +Pro: The LatteGo milk system has two parts and no tubes, and rinses clean in seconds.
• +Pro: Thanks to SilentBrew it carries the Quiet Mark label for quiet appliances.
• −Con: With three coffee drinks the menu is limited: no latte macchiato or iced coffee.
• −Con: The milk jug holds 260 ml, so several cappuccinos in a row mean frequent refills.
